How to get involved with SBADS

You will be warmly welcomed if you’d like to be involved with South Brent Amateur Dramatic Society. While we try to make our shows look slick and effortless, they are put together by ordinary people like you in their spare time.

We’re wholeheartedly an amateur dramatic society and welcome people with or without experience: most of us have no formal training in the jobs we do for SBADS. You don’t even need to live in South Brent.

At almost every show we welcome new members to our team, on and off stage. ‘Am Dram’ is a great way to get involved in theatre at any age. While most of our members treat drama as a hobby, others have used it as a springboard in their careers.

It’s not just about acting: we have lots of different things that need doing, big and small, both in front of the public and behind the scenes.

SBADS has roles for pretty much “all the family”: indeed, we have many families involved with SBADS, with children following parents (and grandparents) onto the stage, and parents who discovered the fun of am-dram for themselves because their children wanted to take part.

Whoever you are, and whatever your background, we hope you’ll find a role you love with SBADS.

You can also come along to our ‘audition’ read-throughs if you’d like to meet us – we post details on this website and put up posters in South Brent – or you can drop us a line or give us a ring at any time if you’d like to find out more.
