Website Issues – resolved
As emailed to members earlier in the week, some of you may have experienced unwanted pop-ups, tabs or windows opening on your phone or computer over the last week with perhaps fake warnings of infections. These pop-ups and windows themselves caused no harm and there is no chance of infection from our site. Simply closing these additional tabs / windows would and will suffice, but they were annoying.
This was caused by a brute force attack (a hack) from a source we believe to have been in China. We are not sure why this happened because our website contains no personal data and nothing of value (apart from its aesthetics!).
After some considerable work by our web-master (and ninja), Josh, our site has been cleansed and is now more strongly protected. You should no longer see such intrusions and our website is fully functioning.
